A lot of people have asked what's up with Drew's ears. So, here's the story.
Since Drew was breach, his feet were by his head in the womb and apparently crushed his cartilage. His left ear was affected the most. It was "cupped" which means the top was folded down, and the lobe was folded up. The right ear was fine, we thought. However, when we took him to the plastic surgeon, they said that one was slightly cupped as well. So, in order to fix this problem, they use dental clay, tape, and super glue. Yes, super glue...just like from the craft store. We go every 2 weeks to have the tape and molds removed and replaced. Drew is in his 5th week now, and next week he'll for sure get the tape and molds on the right ear removed for good. We'll just have to see on the left ear. If anything, he'll only have tape on his lobe for another 2 weeks on the left one. No anesthesia, cutting, stitching, etc has to be done for this procedure. We are so greatful for that. If we had waited until he's older, it wouldn't be so easy.
So, that's the story, and that's what that stuff is on his ears in the pictures. Mama and Daddy will be so glad for him to get them off so he can finally have a REAL bath.
